The bosch common rail (CR) main fuel pin is a calibration shim in diesel injectors that operates precisely under high pressure to help maintain stable injection pressure. It is used for the fine adjustment of the fuel quantity and is particularly effective at full throttle. It is found as a standard component in almost all Bosch diesel injectors. Unlike other calibration shims, it directly affects only the maximum load (full throttle) operating conditions. Due to its position, it is exposed to high pressure and impacts, making it highly susceptible to crushing. Therefore, it is manufactured from an extremely hard and durable material. To achieve high surface quality and precision, it is produced using a lapping process.
